Wilderness First Aid

THE COURSE:

This is a 16 hour certificate course taught over two days in basic austere medicine. This includes patient assessment, bleeding control, stabilizing fractures, improvised litters and splinting, how to treat heat and cold induced injuries, altitude sickness, cardiac issues, allergies, lightning strikes, physical and mental preparedness, education on the use of medical kits, transportation considerations in all environments, field communications and field medicines.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Class runs 8 hours each day. Day one will be in a classroom with a 45 break for lunch. Lunches both days will be provided. Specific times and locations will be emailed to participants after a full class has been booked. 

Day two will be outdoors and will finish with a field exercise. A day pack and outdoor hiking apparel is recommended.

  • Minimum number required to run class is 6

    We reserve the right to cancel the class if 6 people do not register.
